Adega do Mollón

In the Heart of Ribeira Sacra

The winery is located in O Mollón, in the parish of Viñoás (Nogueira de Ramuín), and is housed in a two-storey building with an underground cellar for storing bottled wine, covering a total area of 680 m².

Our Vineyards

We have our own vineyards, which allow us to fully control the quality of the grapes brought into the winery.

Most of the grapes come from vineyards located in the parish of Viñoás, Nogueira de Ramuín (Ourense).

To maintain this own-production structure, Adega do Mollón, S.L. has promoted a vineyard development project supported by Terras de Ramuín S.L., which aims to bring together and coordinate local efforts in the production of quality grapes. The company is open to winegrowers in the area and currently has 15 members who have contributed their land and the resources required for its efficient cultivation.

At our Ribeira Sacra winery, thepredominant red grape variety grown is Mencía, complemented by Garnacha Tintorera, Tempranillo and Sousón (recently planted). Among the white varieties, Godello is the main grape, complemented by Treixadura and Albariño.

The vineyards cover 4 hectares, 60% of which are in full production.

Our Facilities

The installed winemaking capacity is 102,000 litres, with sufficient space to expand it to 500,000 litres.

The winery has stainless-steel winemaking tanks, vats and French oak barrels, refrigeration equipment, as well as temperature-control, microfiltration and bottling systems.

Refrigeration and temperature-control system

The main winemaking tanks are connected to a temperature-control system that keeps the must at optimum temperatures to achieve maximum quality.

This system is also used for the tartaric stabilisation of the wine at a later stage.
